Detroit Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman has made the decision to waive another veteran.
Less than a week after waiving defenseman Danny DeKeyser, they’ve placed forward Frans Nielsen on the waiver wire:

In 18 games this season, Nielsen has registered only three assists, and carries a hefty $5.25 million cap hit. He’ll almost certainly clear, which will give Detroit cap flexibility.
They could also place him on the team taxi squad, as they did with DeKeyser.
