Freep: Lions’ DC Paul Pasqualoni may have to fall on sword at season’s end

The Detroit Lions all but officially kissed goodbye any lingering hope of a playoff spot with yesterday’s 35-27 setback to the Dallas Cowboys at Ford Field.

Afterwards, Detroit Free Press beat writer Dave Birkett suggested that they may have to offer maligned defensive coordinator as a sacrificial lamb as a consequence for the poor showing all year.

“This is Matt Patricia’s defense,” he wrote, “but if Patricia survives this season someone will have to pay a price for the team’s wretched defensive performance. Pasqualoni and his staff have had no answers so far. The Lions did a solid job against Ezekiel Elliott, but that hardly matters when you allow 444 yards passing.”

Will the Lions have to get rid of Pasqualoni, a mentor of Matt Patricia, at season’s end?
