The Detroit Red Wings and Colorado Avalanche authored one of sports most legendary rivalries in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, providing countless memories for fans of both sides as well as hockey fans everywhere.
We were once again treated to another matchup between the two sides, with many of the legendary faces that made things so special lacing up the skates one more time. Alumni from both the Red Wings and Avalanche faced off for the NHL Stadium Series Alumni Game in front of 43,319 at Coors Field.
Though Colorado’s alumni players would prevail by a 5-2 score, it was great seeing players from these two legendary foes go at it once more.
