For four and a half seasons, Golden Tate was a member of the Detroit Lions. Over that time, he proved on the field exactly why he was one of their most valuable players on the offensive side of the ball as he caught 416 passes for 4,741 yards and 22 touchdowns.

But in 2018, after seven games, Tate was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles, leaving many Lions’ fans scratching their head.
That being said, Tate has moved on with his career and the Lions have also moved on, hoping to build a contending team in the NFC.
On Wednesday, Tate joined Ian Rapoport on the Rapsheet + Friends podcast and he was asked if he thinks the Lions are going in the right direction. (25:20 mark)
“Yeah, I do,” Tate said. “I think they have some incredible pieces over there as well. They got some great young talent that is coming in. They seem to be drafting the right way over the last few years that I was there. I definitely believe in them. I always thought every year I was there, we were better than our record said.”
Tate, who is now a member of the New York Giants, will be back in town on October 27 when the Lions host the Giants at Ford Field.
