On Friday, Jared Zwerling of Bleacher Report reported that Greg Monroe has scheduled four to five meetings for when free agency opens next week.
Hearing that Greg Monroe has four or five meetings for free agency. East and West teams. One is the Knicks, a strong candidate.

Just a few minutes later, Vincent Ellis of the Detroit Free Press reported that the Detroit Pistons were not one of those teams.

The question now becomes, what does this mean for the Pistons? It’s certainly possible that even if Monroe doesn’t have a meeting planned with Detroit now, they still could meet down the road.
But with the recent addition of Ersan Ilyasova to play the more natural stretch-4 position in head coach Stan Van Gundy‘s offense, it seems a near certainty that Monroe is on his way out.
Other than the New York Knicks, it is unknown what other teams Monroe has planned meetings with. The Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns are all possible fits, but at this point it’s all speculation.
For now, all we can infer is that as NBA free agency draws closer and closer, it appears to be more and more clear we may have seen the last of “The Moose” playing in the Motor City.
