In what has been one of the most anticipated announcements of the day, 4-star running back Mike Weber has decided to honor his commitment and will attend Ohio State University in the fall.
Weber originally committed to the University of Michigan last August but changed his mind when Brady Hoke was fired as the the head coach. He then went on to commit to Ohio State in early December after visiting the campus and meeting with head coach Urban Meyer and his staff.
Weber, a 5-foot-9, 219 pound running back out of Cass Tech High School in Detroit, MI, was one of the biggest mysteries coming into signing day. Most experts had Ohio State as the slight favorite to land the star running back, and it turns out they were right.
This is a huge win for Urban Meyer and Ohio State, not only because they stole a player from Michigan, but because they signed a talented running back who has the potential to do great things.
Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh did everything he could to get Weber to flip back to the Wolverines, but in the end it was not enough.
