One of the very few bright spots from the Detroit Red Wings’ abysmal season was the continued development of Andreas Athanasiou. The now 23-year-old doubled his goal and point total from his rookie season, and even uncovered an edgier side of him.
Fewer examples, if any, personify that more than a scrap Athanasiou got in, in a game at home against the Tampa Bay Lightning. ‘Double-A’ decided to unload some of his frustration on Adam Erne of the Lightning.
