Hockey player explodes out of penalty box, violently checks referee to ice [VIDEO]

As we have seen, sports can bring out the best in people, but it can also bring out the worst as you will see in this hockey video.

This unfortunate incident just so happened to take place with less than a minute left in the NJCAA National Championship game with Dakota College at Bottineau leading Erie Community College 7-4.

Watch as a player from Erie comes storming out of the penalty box and violently checks a referee down to the ground. The game was called with 39 seconds remaining as the referee was taken care of on the ice.
