On Friday, the United States Women’s National Team was a heavy favorite to advance to the Olympic Soccer semifinals, but their dreams of winning yet another Gold Medal came to an abrupt end following a penalty shootout loss to Sweden.
Following the game, United States goaltender Hope Solo managed to put her foot in her mouth once again. This time she called the Swedish team a “bunch of cowards” and claimed that the “better team” was eliminated.

“I thought we played a courageous game. I thought we had many opportunities on goal. I think we showed a lot of heart. We came back from a goal down, I’m very proud of this team. And I also think we played a bunch of cowards. The best team did not win today, I strongly, firmly believe that.”
Solo has shown time and time again that she is not somebody that we want representing our great country and it’s time for her to just go away.
