Huge news out of Minnesota could cost Detroit Lions a top 10 pick

For those of you rooting for the Detroit Lions to lose their final game of the season (Sunday vs. the Vikings) so that they can secure the highest draft pick possible, this news will chap your behind.

According to a report from Courtney Cronin, Minnesota Vikings all-world RB Dalvin Cook will not play on Sunday vs. the Lions as he had to return to Miami after an unexpected family emergency came up on Tuesday.

The Lions currently hold the No. 7 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, but by winning on Sunday vs. the Vikings, which is very possible without Cook in the lineup, they could slide out of the top 10.

In their first matchup of the season, Cook carried the ball 22 times for 206 yards and a pair of touchdowns, so you can bet the Lions are thrilled they will not have to attempt to slow him down on Sunday.

All of that being said, we certainly wish Dalvin and his family the best of luck and they will be in our prayers.
