Just when it looked like the Detroit Tigers were going to drop yet another tough game, Ian Kinsler had something to say about it.
Kinsler came to the plate with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning, with a runner on third base. He proceeded to blast a 1-2 pitch over the left field fence to give the Tigers a 5-4 lead and eventually a win over the Seattle Mariners.
The home run was Kinsler’s second of the game and it could not have come at a better time for a struggling Tigers team.
With speculation about whether or not the Tigers will be buyers or sellers as the trade deadline approaches, maybe this victory bought a little more time for a team that seems to have more talent than wins.
