For the Detroit Lions to have even the slightest chance of beating Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday afternoon, Matthew Stafford was going to have to play the game of his life.
Unfortunately, Stafford suffered an ankle injury during the first quarter and he never returned to the game.
On Sunday, NFL insider Ian Rapoport provided some good news regarding Stafford’s ankle and he also offered a suggestion that I agree with.
According to Rapoport, Stafford was diagnosed with a sprained ankle but it does not appear to be too serious. Rapoport added that it would make sense for the Lions to sit Stafford for their final regular-season game.
Nation, what do you think the Lions should do with Stafford?
#Lions QB Matthew Stafford was diagnosed with a sprained ankle early in yesterday’s loss to the #Bucs, source said. While it doesn’t appear too serious, given where Detroit is in the season, sitting Stafford the final game would make some sense.
