On Wednesday night, the Michigan “Revenge Tour” expanded to the basketball court as the Wolverines squared off against the Villanova Wildcats in what was a rematch of 2018 National Championship Game. This time around, the Wolverines handled their business from the opening tip as they cruised to a 73-46 win on Villanova’s home court.

With the win, Michigan moved to 3-0 on the season and one of the main reasons why is the 6-7 freshman, Ignas Brazdeikis, who is tied for the team-lead with Charles Matthews at 16.3 points per game.
If you have had the opportunity to watch Brazdeikis play this season, you may feel like you have seen him in a Michigan uniform before. In fact, you have to look back to the 2017-2018 season when Moritz Wagner donned the Wolverines No. 13. But it’s not just that Brazdeikis wears the same number as Wagner did during his time in Ann Arbor, it’s his confidence in his abilities.
Following the Wolverines win over Villanova, Brazdeikis talked to The Athletic and there is no question about it, he believes in himself.
“I’ve worked for this my entire life, honest to God, but I’ve always felt that if you don’t perform in the moment, then you don’t got nothing,” Brazdeikis said later. “You can work as hard as you want, for as long as you want. But when performance time comes, that’s showtime. I am ready and I am so confident in myself. I feel like no one can guard me and that I guard every single one of them. To me, it’s like playing any other team. I’m just ready to go kill.”

At 20-year-old, Brazkeikis is not your average freshman who is easily intimidated by the bright lights, instead, he knows he belongs and he is ready to attack.
Because of that, Michigan fans should be VERY excited about what the future holds.
