Fox Sports Detroit bids farewell to Darren ELiot

Fox Sports Detroit and the Detroit Red Wings bid farewell to Darren Eliot, a studio analyst for Fox Sports Detroit on Tuesday night. Eliot announced he was taking a job with the Vegas Golden Knights as vice president of hockey programming and facility operations.

Eliot had been with Fox Sports Detroit since 2011, and also oversaw Little Caesars youth hockey operations for the Red Wings since 2014. With Vegas, he will be overseeing facility operations for City National Arena in Nevada, and will also be the executive director of the Vegas Jr. Golden Knights program.

Meanwhile, 97.1 The Ticket's Kyle Bogie announced through his Twitter that former Red Wings defenseman and Hall-of-Famer Larry Murphy would be returning to the network.

Murphy was let by by Fox in 2013 because of, as he put it, “ratings”. He was acquired by the Red Wings from Toronto in 1997 and was a member of the 1997 and 1998 Stanley Cup winning teams, often paired on the ice with Nicklas Lidstrom.
