The Detroit Tigers have announced that left-handed starter Kyle Lobstein will be placed on the 15-day disabled list with what is believed to be a sore left shoulder.
#Tigers place LHP Kyle Lobstein on 15-day DL and call up SS Dixon Machado. Also Buck Farmer will start Thursday at Angels.

Lobstein pitched Saturday against the Astros in the third game of a four-game set at Comerica Park. He gave up three earned runs on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings pitched, walking three batters and striking out one. Lobstein had been pitching admirably in place of Tigers starting ace Justin Verlander this season, who is inching closer and closer to a return to the big league ball club.
The Tigers plan to recall Toledo Mud Hens starter Buck Farmer on Wednesday, just in time to make a Thursday start against the Angels. Farmer is 5-1 on the season with the Mud Hens, posting a 2.98 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and a 2.63 K/BB ratio.
Infield Support Incoming: The Tigers also called up shortstop Dixon Machado on Sunday. He has been impressing down in Triple-A Toledo so far in 2015. While he has just one homer and 16 runs batted in, Machado has produced a remarkable .274/.339/.331 slash line in 40 games played. He has also found himself on the highlight reel much like the Tigers current shortstop and fielding wizard Jose Iglesias.
