Injury Update: Medical plan in place for Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford

Last Sunday, news broke that Matthew Stafford had a fractured back and he would be inactive against the Chicago Bears. According to reports that came out later that morning said Stafford could miss as little as one week or as many as three.

Since then, there has been plenty of speculation as to whether the Lions should just shut Stafford down for the rest of the season so that he can heal properly.

On Friday morning, Lions head coach Matt Patricia spoke to the media and he revealed that Stafford will not be playing this coming Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.

Patricia was then asked if Stafford would have additional scans on his back and though he would not go into detail, he did say ‘there's definitely a medical plan is in place.”

From ESPN:

Matt Patricia on a medical plan for Matthew Stafford: “I'm not going to go into the details of that, but there are different things that our doctors are doing, everybody's doing to hit those markers when we get to 'em. He's doing great. He's doing fine, normal. Studying, getting ready to go, helping everybody around him, you know, prepare, which is great.” Is there any scenario where Stafford plays, per Patricia: “Not this Sunday, no.”

Nation, what would your plan be for Stafford? Would you rest him for the rest of the season or bring him back as soon as possible?
