Insider suggests Deshaun Watson could miss entire 2022 season

Raise your hand if you are sick of hearing about Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson and his current situation regarding improper conduct with a plethora of massage therapists. (I assume a ton of hands just went up, including mine)

The latest emergence of a 24th lawsuit, which includes graphic details about Watson with 66 different massage therapists, may just be enough for NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to suspend Watson for much longer than originally expected.

In fact, according to NFL insider Albert Breer, he is wondering if Watson could end up being suspended for the entire 2022 season.

Could Deshaun Watson be suspended for the entire 2022 season?

Breer believes that a decision on Deshaun Watson will come sometime in July and it may not be a decision that Watson, nor the Cleveland Browns, will want to hear.

From Albert Breer:

Now, I’m wondering if he’ll get on the field in 2021 at all. To be sure, the fact that there was a criminal investigation and no charges were filed remains a factor. But the sheer number of accusations and evidence that, at the very least, corroborates that Watson’s behavior was unusual for a pro football player looking for massages, and that he put himself, his team, and the league in a position to look really, really bad, which was the standard under which Ben Roethlisberger was sanctioned 12 years ago (“protect the shield” being the buzz term back then). And in a post–Ray Rice/Greg Hardy/Josh Brown world, I think the league’s very sensitive to looking like it’s going soft on anyone facing these kinds of accusations. Plus, if they give him a year, Watson will have effectively been sidelined for two, which would be in the neighborhood of MLB’s initial punishment of Trevor Bauer. Like I said, I don’t know what the punishment’s going to be. But I do believe the developments of last week are relevant to where this goes next.

Nation, when it comes down to it, how many games do you believe Watson WILL be suspended? How many games do you think he SHOULD be suspended?
