The Detroit Lions are currently in Year 2 of Dan Campbell and following a 3-13-1 season in 2021, many believed the team would take a big jump in 2022. That has not been the case and the Lions are currently 1-6 through their first seven games, which means they actually have a lower winning percentage this season than they did last season. Does the fact that the Lions have seemingly regressed in 2022 mean that Campbell is one of the most-fireable NFL head coaches?
Will Dan Campbell be one of the next NFL coaches to be fired?
On Wednesday, Christian D’Andrea of USA Today Sports For The Win put out a list in which he ranks the six most fireable head coaches.
Many of you have already jumped off the Dan Campbell train and have been calling for him to be fired and we have tried to tell you that he will not be fired any time soon.
D’Andrea agrees as Campbell did not make the list of fireable NFL coaches.
Here are the coaches who did make the list:
6. Brandon Staley – Chargers
5. Todd Bowles – Buccaneers
4. Dennis Allen – Saints
3. Josh McDaniels – Raiders
2. Nathanial Hackett – Broncos
- Kliff Kingsbury – Cardinals
Folks, if you think the Lions are going to fire Campbell any time soon, we have news for you. It is not happening. Now, if the Lions are 1-6 through their first seven games in 2023, then all bets are off and he could certainly be let go.
That being said, the Lions still have one of the worst rosters in the National Football League and expecting them to win a lot of games was probably not a good idea.
