J.D. Martinez leaves game early

After fouling a ball off his knee in the second inning, the Detroit Tigers pulled J.D. Martinez from the game against the Baltimore Orioles early. Tyler Collins replaced Martinez in RF.

Martinez had an x-ray on the left knee, and they came out negative as a knee contusion. He is considered day-to-day.

Martinez has played in all but two of the Tigers games this seasons, and has likely been the team’s MVP with Miguel Cabrera out with an injury.
