Another day, another trade rumor involving the Detroit Tigers.

The latest rumor to be floated out there is that the Colorado Rockies are interested in J.D. Martinez. According to Jon Morosi, a source of his has told him the Rockies find Martinez valuable because of the number of left-handed starters in the National League West.

The Rockies are currently 52-41 which is good enough for third place in the NL West, 2.0 games behind the Arizona Diamondbacks and 11.5 games behind the red-hot Los Angeles Dodgers. Despite being in third place in their division, Colorado currently holds a 5.5 game lead for the final Wild Card spot over the defending World Series Champion Chicago Cubs.

In 55 games for the Tigers in 2017, Martinez is batting .306 with 15 home runs and 37 RBIs while posting career-best OPS of 1.006.
