J.J. McCarthy hopes to play Ohio State in the ‘Big Game’

J.J. McCarthy was asked if he would rather play OSU or Georgia in the College Football Playoff Championship Game.

On Saturday, the J.J. McCarthy and the No. 2 Michigan Wolverines had a golden opportunity when they took on Purdue in the Big Ten Championship Game. The Wolverines took advantage of that opportunity as they won their second-straight Big Ten Championship, making it the first time in 30 years that they have one the Big Ten Championship outright in back-to-back seasons. Up next for Michigan is the College Football Playoff, where they will start things off against No. 3 TCU in the Fiesta Bowl. But would the Wolverines have rather played Ohio State in the College Football Playoff Semifinals? McCarthy was asked about that on Sunday.

What did J.J. McCarthy say about Ohio State?

On Sunday, McCarthy spoke to reporters and when asked about whether he was hoping for a rematch with OSU in the College Football Semifinals, he admitted that was the case.

“I mean, deep down a little bit,” McCarthy said. “But hopefully we see them in the big game.”

McCarthy was then asked if he would rather play OSU or Georgia in the College Football Playoff Championship Game.

“Honestly, it’s best of both worlds, honestly,” McCarthy said. “So no matter who it is, we’re gonna be ready for it.”

Nation, are you hoping that Michigan gets a rematch with OSU in the College Football Playoff Championship Game, or, would you rather them get a chance to take down No. 1 Georgia?
