It sounds crazy to say that a punter has been a team’s most valuable player but that would not be a huge stretch considering what Detroit Lions punter Jack Fox has done so far this season.
In fact, Fox’s 51.1 net punting average this season is the best in NFL history through 3 games.

On Thursday, Fox became the first punter in Lions’ history to win the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month Award.
P @MrJackFox is the 1st punter in @Lions history to win an NFC Special Teams Player of the Month award.
The only other Lions to win a POTM award in their 1st season were B. Sanders & T. Fair.
The last NFC P to win this award in his 1st month in the @NFL was Chris Kluwe in 2005. pic.twitter.com/ruUDijiIx5

Mr. Fox has proven to be quite the weapon for the Lions so far. Can he keep it up?
