Michigan’s quarterback room is about to get a shake-up.
Redshirt freshman Jadyn Davis, once one of the crown jewels of the Wolverines’ 2024 recruiting class, is planning to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos. The move comes after two seasons in Ann Arbor and limited opportunities behind the emergence of freshman sensation Bryce Underwood.

After appearing in just one game as a true freshman, Davis found himself behind the nation’s No. 1 overall recruit, Underwood, who seized the starting job this season and never looked back. Underwood has started every game for Michigan and is already viewed as the program’s quarterback of the future.
As for Davis, his on-field résumé remains brief: three game appearances in two seasons, with only two pass attempts in reserve duty.
Now, he’ll look for a fresh start.
Davis is expected to officially enter the portal in January and will have three years of eligibility remaining, giving him ample time to reset his college career and find a program where he can compete for meaningful snaps.
With the transfer portal heating up across college football, Davis immediately becomes one of the more intriguing quarterback options available: a talented, highly-ranked recruit whose story is still far from written.
