It looked like the Detroit Lions were finally going to get things going on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, that is, until the second half started and they could not do anything on offense and the defense could not get a stop. We have been hearing for weeks how close the Lions are to winning football games, how they are just a handful of plays away from their record looking much different than it does. The fans are sick of hearing that and so is Lions’ running back, Jamaal Williams.
What did Jamaal Williams say after the game?
Following the game, Jamaal Williams spoke to reporters and he said he is “over” hearing how “close” the Lions are to winning football games.
“I’m over it,” Williams said after the game. “It’s not to the point where I’m lashing out at people just because they asked that question. But we know what we need to do. Of course, it’s irritating to hear the same question over and over and know how close we really are. We’ve just got to keep going. So, that’s why I don’t really pay attention to the words or people saying anything, just because we know how really close we really are. It’s just up to us to find out, pull it out of ourselves and come out with these dubs.”

Jamaal Williams was the Lions’ workhorse against the Dolphins
With D’Andre Swift returning from his injuries, many thought Williams would take a back seat when it came to total touches but that was not the case.
During the game, Williams carried the ball 10 times for 53 yards and two touchdowns, while also catching three passes for 23 yards. Swift had five carries for six yards and five receptions for 27 yards and a touchdown.
Williams now has eight touchdowns in seven games, which is the most rushing touchdowns through seven games in franchise history.
