The Detroit Lions made some pretty big waves when they traded up to select WR Jameson Williams with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Some were upset that the Lions elected to select an offensive player when they needed help on the defensive side of the ball, while others were not happy that the Lions were drafting a player who was still recovering from a serious injury. At the same time, there were plenty of Lions fans who were very excited to add such a big-time weapon to the offense. The question is, when will Williams make his NFL debut?
When will Jameson Williams make his debut for the Detroit Lions?
On Tuesday, Williams spoke to reporters and he said he’s “not sure” when he will play in his first game but he’s excited to get back on the field playing the game he loves.
“I’ve missed the game a lot,” Williams told reporters on Tuesday. “I’m real, real excited to put my cleats on, to get to put my jersey on, to be able to get out there with the guys and actually be part of the team. You feel me? It’s something I missed a lot, and I’m just happy to get back.”
Williams added that it may take some time to get on the same page with Lions’ QB Jared Goff, but it should not take too long.
“We did some stuff, but I feel like it won’t take long. It’s a connection, it’s a receiver/QB thing. It’s a normal thing. It’s football. It may take a little time, but it’s going to get to that for sure,” Williams said.
Nation, how much of an impact do you think Jameson Williams will have for the Lions in 2022?
