You knew it was just a matter of time before Jameson Williams finally picked up his first catch as a member of the Detroit Lions. But not many people thought his first catch would be a 41-yard touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings. Well, that’s exactly what happened on Sunday, and though it was his only catch of the game, it was a big one that really set the tone for the Lions during their huge win over the Vikings at Ford Field.
What did Jameson Williams say about Detroit Lions fans?
Following the game, Williams spoke to reporters about what happened on his first touchdown catch in the NFL.
“It was a great experience. … They (safeties) dropped down, so we knew it was over the top,” Williams said after the game, adding that he was “kinda” surprised he was so wide open. “It was how the play was designed up. If they do this, we do that. I they did that, we did this. So, it was one of those.”
Williams also talked about how much he appreciates the Lions fans who were so excited for him to score.
“It’s crazy. I love it. They treat me very well. It’s probably one of the best treatments I done got in a while,” Williams said. “Like, the ‘We want Jamo!’ chants, the ‘Jamo’ chants, everybody going crazy when I touch the field, score. It’s just electric, man. I love it.”
Let’s hope that was the first of many touchdowns catches for JAMO!!!!
