In case you have not yet heard, the clock has officially started on Detroit Lions rookie wide receiver, Jameson Williams. What that means, of course, is that Williams has been removed from the PUP (physically unable to perform) and that his 21-day window started on Monday. On Tuesday, Williams spoke to reporters, and he talked about wearing the same number that Matthew Stafford used to wear for the Lions.
What did Jameson Williams say about the funny comment from Matthew Stafford?
Following Tuesday's practice, Williams sat by his locker and spoke to reporters. While doing so, he recounted something that Stafford told him when he gave his blessing to wear No. 9 for the Lions.
“One thing he told me is the No. 9 is going to be moving a lot faster out on the field,” Williams said.
Williams also spoke about how although there were some rough days of rehab, he pushed through and is ready to go.
“I had a lot of workouts. A lot of down days. Bad days I had to push through,” Williams said at his locker after Tuesday's practice. “But I'm here now.
“I missed the game a lot. I'm real, real, real excited to put my cleats on, be able to put my jersey on and get out there with the guys. Actually be a part of the team. It's something I've missed a lot and I'm just happy to get back going.”
