Jameson Williams will not make debut with Detroit Lions for quite a while

Detroit Lions HC Dan Campbell spoke to reporters and he gave an update about when we can expect Jameson Williams to make his debut.

After the Detroit Lions traded up and selected WR Jameson Williams in the opening round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Williams told reporters that he would be ready for training camp.

Well, Williams had some pretty high hopes but Dan Campbell and Brad Holmes have been clear from the beginning that they are going to take things slow.

When will Jameson Williams make his debut?

On Wednesday, Campbell spoke to reporters and he gave an update on when Williams will make his NFL debut.

“I know ‘JaMo,’ really over the past three weeks, it’s really picking up in a good way,” Campbell told reporters.”

“It’s hard to put a deadline as to when they’d be out there, but I think you’re still looking at a while,” Campbell continued. “Certainly a good time after the bye before we think about it.”

Predicting when Jameson Williams will make his debut

These comments from Dan Campbell really do not come as much of a surprise as Tom Pelissero previously reported that Jameson Williams would likely make his debut in November.

“Probably the most likely timeline for his return is around November,” Pelissero said in early August. “I’ve also talked to people here who say he’s absolutely champing at the bit to get back in right now. He was actually standing on the field kind of tossing the ball to himself. It looked like he was holding himself back from going out there and running some routes.”

My best guess is that Williams makes his debut with the Lions on November 6th at Ford Field against the Green Bay Packers.
