The Detroit Lions cruised past the Cleveland Browns 34-10 on Sunday, but not every moment was perfect. Wide receiver Jameson Williams had a couple of drops and was the target on a Jared Goff interception. After the game, Goff was quick to defend his young receiver.
Goff admitted the interception was on him. “I made a really poor decision on the interception,” he said. “That had nothing to do with getting him the ball. I saw it poorly, and go pretty reckless there, and one I’d like back.”
Despite the miscues, Goff doubled down on his faith in Williams, emphasizing the growth he’s seen from the third-year wideout. “He’s so Steady Eddy throughout the week now. It’s like I’ve got no reservations with him at all. He’s as good as they get in our league. He can score from anywhere. Gonna keep believing in him no matter what.”
Williams has shown flashes of being a game-changing weapon for the Lions, and Goff made it clear the team isn’t wavering in its confidence. Drops happen, but in Detroit’s locker room, belief in Jamo’s upside remains sky-high.
