If you thought the Detroit Lions sounded defeated after Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams… think again. Jared Goff made it abundantly clear on Monday that he’s fed up with fans writing off this team. The Lions may be outside the NFC playoff picture today, but the quarterback isn’t entertaining the idea that Detroit is done.
During his weekly appearance on 97.1 The Ticket, Goff was informed that fans had been calling in all morning predicting the Lions will miss the postseason for the first time in three years. And the 31-year-old franchise QB did not mince words.

Jared Goff Blasts Doubters: “It Pisses Me Off”
When told that many fans believe winning out is unrealistic, Goff fired back immediately:
“That’s awesome, that’s awesome,” Goff said. “Thank you, guys.”
That’s not frustration. That’s motivation.
Goff doubled down, explaining that Detroit’s focus isn’t on outside noise, it’s on beating the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday at Ford Field and getting this playoff push started the right way.
“I don’t get to reinstill faith in anyone. It pisses me off a little bit to hear that, but we have to win this first one. Pittsburgh at home, we’ll have it in front of our home fans, it’ll be great. Go out there and get that W and hopefully prove a lot of our people wrong.”
The Lions have been inconsistent against top-tier opponents this season, but internally, the belief hasn’t wavered one bit.
Goff Confident Lions Can Beat Steelers and Start a Run
When asked point-blank whether he believes Detroit can take down Pittsburgh and spark a three-game sprint to the playoffs, Goff didn’t hesitate:
“Win the first one? Absolutely. We can get this one done, beat Pittsburgh and then go from there,” said Goff.
Say what you want about how this season has gone, but Goff’s message was unmistakable:
Detroit is not dead.
The locker room is not defeated.
And the quarterback leading this team is tired of hearing fans give up.
The Lions have three games left, and Goff sounds ready to prove a whole lot of people wrong.
