Javier Baez to wear new uniform number with Detroit Tigers

Throughout his Major League Baseball career, Javier Baez has wore two numbers. Those numbers were No. 9 with the Cubs and No. 23 with the New York Mets.

But when Baez takes the field for the Detroit Tigers on Opening Day 2022, he will be wearing a new number.

According to the Tigers official website, Baez has decided to wear No. 28 with the Tigers.

In case you were wondering, Willi Castro currently wears No. 9, while nobody is listed as No. 23 as of now.

SP Eduardo Rodriquez, who the Tigers recently signed to a multi-year contract, does not yet have a number.
