Ever since the news broke that Jim Harbaugh was heading home to become the head football coach at the University of Michigan, there were already rumors about if and when he would return to the NFL.
In fact, every single year around this time, the rumors start floating around that either Harbaugh is considering a return to the NFL or that NFL teams are interested in Harbaugh.
That is no different this year as there have been plenty of rumors/reports that this could finally be the year.
Well, NFL insider Jay Glazer just dropped a bomb.
On Wednesday, Glazer joined the Tiki and Tierney on CBS Sports Radio and he not only said that NFL teams are not interested in Harbaugh but he also added that NFL teams have not been interested for years.
From 97.1 The Ticket:
“A guy like Jim, every three years, he has basically a new group of guys. His guys move on and they’re like, ‘Okay, we’re tired of it.’ And they move on, and a new group comes in. I personally think he’s better suited for college than he is for the NFL,” Glazer said.
Asked if he’s heard rumblings of any NFL team being interested in Harbaugh, Glazer said, “No, I have not.”
“There hasn’t been [NFL interest in him] the last few years, so I don’t know why it would suddenly come to light this year,” said Glazer.
According to recent reports, Harbaugh will soon sign a contract extension at Michigan, so this is all a moot point.
I suppose if no NFL teams are interested in Harbaugh, that indicates he is not in high demand.
