On Monday, Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh spoke to the media during his weekly press conference and he confirmed that former Michigan basketball player Chris Webber will be the honorary captain for this week’s game.

Webber, of course, was part of the infamous “Fab Five” which consisted of himself, Jalen Rose, Jimmy King, Ray Jackson, and Juwan Howard.

During his two seasons at Michigan, Webber averaged 17.4 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. During his freshman season, Webber led the Wolverines all the way to the National Championship game where they were blown out by Duke. The following season, the “Fab Five” managed to get all the way to the final game once again before falling to North Carolina in a game where Webber called a timeout when the Wolverines had none remaining.

Webber, who was accused of accepting in excess of $200,00 from a local booster, was eventually convicted with perjury and was banned from any affiliation with Michigan through 2013.
