The Michigan Wolverines were fortunate to escape the Big House today with a 10-3 victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes, and they have their defense to thank for that.
The offense and quarterback Shea Patterson didn’t have their best showing by a long shot with four three-and-outs and two missed field goals.

However, head coach Jim Harbaugh didn’t seem too concerned, and raised plenty of eyebrows with his description of where he thinks the offense currently stands.
“I really do,” he responded when asked if he believes his team offense is doing what they’re supposed to.
“I think they’re hitting their stride and we have great faith in our players and our coaches.”
When asked how exactly the offense was hitting their stride, Harbaugh didn’t go into any details.
“In every way,” he defiantly stated. “In every way.”
It’s great to have faith in your players, but that answer probably wasn’t exactly what fans wanted to hear after only putting up 10 points on the board.
“I thought our offensive line played really good, played really physical,” Harbaugh continued. “Played against some really good players, too. They’ve got guys that can put pressure on the quarterback. That showed up a few times.”
The Wolverines put up 147 yards passing, which was their worst showing of the season. How exactly will that fare against their two chief rivals from East Lansing and Columbus, who boast the No. 7 and 2 respective defenses?
