Joel Embiid takes shot Pistons’ Andre Drummond after dropping 30 on him

Joel Embiid has been running his mouth since the day he stepped into the NBA, calling out players and teams left and right. And after Philadelphia defeated the Pistons yesterday 97-86, The Process had some words for Detroit's center Andre Drummond.

“When we started the game, he was being aggressive,” Embiid said, “and he was talking, too. … So what I was like [in my mind], ‘You want to do that? I'm going to kick your [butt] then.' So that's what I did.”

Embiid certainly backed up his mouth, dropping 30 points on 11-for-15 shooting and grabbing nine rebounds in just 28 minutes.

While Embiid did his job, it was Ben Simmons who made the Sixers go last night, recording his first triple-double of 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists in 34 minutes. But with all the talking and backing it up, its Embiid that gets the hype.

He certainly seems to be enjoying himself this year.

Drummonds lack of defense was on display in the second quarter.

While Embiid is having a hot start once again, I'm with Paul Pierce on this one, let's see him finish a whole season.

A taste of Embiid was more than Drummond and the Pistons could handle in their first go-round, but Drummond isn't shying away…

Hopefully December 2nd is a different result for Drummond who had 14 points on 5-for-9 shooting, 14 rebounds and 4 steals last night (while making 4 of 6 free throws I might add), and a different result for the Pistons who were punched in the mouth early, fell behind by nine after the first and down 13 at halftime. Stanley Johnson took one shot in 18 minutes (he missed it), and the rest of the starters-not-named-Drummond were a combined 19-for-49 from the field (39%).
