Johan Franzen played his first game with the Detroit Red Wings since suffering a concussion in January. He has been training hard all summer, and was very anxious to get back into a game situation. His hands were a little rusty, which is to be expected after missing 8 months, but overall he looked really good out there playing next to Riley Sheahan and Luke Glendening.
“I’m not going to be afraid to go into corners and throwing hits,” Franzen said. “That’s the last thing I think about right now.
“Hopefully, I will have a healthy season. Just stay healthy and have fun. I really missed it. Hopefully, my head can handle it.”
Injury Updates
Teemu Pulkkinen sustained an upper-body injury last night against the Penguins, and Mike Green sat out of practice today with a sore groin (very common at this time of year). Dan Cleary will make his debut on Saturday against the Bruins, and Franzen will suit up again as well.

#RedWings coach Jeff Blashill said Mike Green and Teemu Pulkkinen are day to day. Said Pulky was injured "upper, mid-level" last night.
