Jonathan Schoop hits 4th hardest Detroit Tigers home run since 2015

Jonathan Schoop is doing good things for the Tigers.

[ss_click_to_tweet tweet=”Detroit's 4th hardest hit-home run was launched yesterday! ” content=”You probably wouldn't be able to guess offhand who the players in the top 4 are. ” style=”default”]The Detroit Tigers think they have something good going on with 2B Jonathan Schoop.

In fact, they decided that he'll be sticking around through today's deadline; he'd previously been mentioned as a potential trade candidate.

The team got another demonstration of Schoop's contributions to their playoff quest during yesterday's win over the Minnesota Twins at Comerica Park. His home run just happened to be the 4th hardest hit long ball by a Tigers player since 2015, with an exit velocity of 113.9 MPH.

Ex-Tigers player Justin Upton features twice in the top four, with current Tiger Jeimer Candelario clocking in at number two.

Through 32 games, Schoop, who is a free-agent at seasons end, has launched eight home runs for the Tigers.
