Love suffered the injury after hitting his thumb on a helmet while taking a sack. In four NFL seasons, the 26-year-old has thrown for 8,154 yards, 60 touchdowns, and 25 interceptions while completing 63.5% of his passes. Last season, he started 15 games, posting 3,389 yards, 25 touchdowns, and a 96.7 passer rating.

The timing of the injury adds intrigue to the start of the season, as the Packers are set to host their NFC North rivals, the Detroit Lions, at Lambeau Field in Week 1.
