It’s the time of year when general managers sign free agents and discuss (and sometimes pull) off a trade.
On Monday, the Detroit Tigers checked off one box on that list by signing free agent pitcher, Tyson Ross to a 1-year deal.
But what about trading? Well, Al Avila spoke on Monday and revealed which current players on the Tigers Major League roster are untouchable and his answer was…
Nobody.
There are no players the Tigers consider untouchable in trade talks on their Major League roster, Avila said.

To be honest, this does not come as much of a surprise as anyone is movable if the price is right, but it also shows that Avila is willing to wheel and deal if he feels he can get the right package in return.

The 2018 Major League Baseball Winter Meetings are officially underway, which means the rumors will be flying around for the next few days.
For the Detroit Tigers, adding a shortstop during the offseason is priority No. 1 but general manager Al Avila has said the team will also be open to adding a second baseman if it makes sense.
As it stands, Dawel Lugo is probably the odds-on favorite to land the starting second baseman job out of Spring Training, but at just 23 years of age, he could probably use a bit of seasoning.
