On Wednesday morning, news broke out of nowhere that the Detroit Lions had dealt a fifth-round draft pick to the New York Giants for defensive lineman Damon Harrison.
While speaking to the media today, Lions’ head coach Matt Patricia said he could not comment on the report of the trade with the Giants because it was “not complete.”

From Detroit Free Press:
“I know there’s a lot of information out there right now as far as a potential trade between us and the Giants,” Patricia said. “But unfortunately for myself, I’m not going to comment on any situation that is not official or is not complete. There is a process that’s involved with all this. We have spoken to the Giants, that is true. But unfortunately nothing there is official and nothing is really anything that I can comment on right now. So we’ll see what happens with the process and if it goes through, it does. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t, and we’ll just go from there.”
Though it would have been fun to listen to Patricia comment about his new toy, he did what he was supposed to do in a situation where a trade is not official.
Since Patricia does not speak to the media on Thursday, we may have to wait until Friday to get his thoughts on the trade.
