On Sunday, the Detroit Lions will be in the desert to take on the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1 of the 2019 NFL season.
As we know, teams will do whatever they can to get even the smallest advantage heading into a game and that’s exactly what the Lions seem to be doing.
According to reports, the Lions have signed QB Chad Kanoff to their practice squad.

Now, you may be wondering how a practice squad player could possibly help the Lions in their Week 1 matchup against the Cardinals.
Well, the reason why Kanoff could be the Lions’ secret weapon this week is that he spent training camp in Arizona with the Cardinals. Maybe the hope is that he can provide some insight into what the Cardinals will be planning to do on offense.
Sounds like a pretty smart move by Lions’ GM Bob Quinn.
