With the 2017 regular season coming fast, the Detroit Lions have announced they have waived offensive tackle Cyrus Kouandjio.

Prior to being waived, Kouandjio was competing with Greg Robinson for the starting left tackle job, an opening which was created when Taylor Decker went down with an injury.

Kouandjio, who is 24-years-old, was signed by the Lions in mid-June after being released by the Buffalo Bills.

The move pretty much guarantees that Robinson will be the starting left tackle for Week 1 while Cornelius Lucas will likely serve as a backup.
