Anyways, according to a report by Howard Balzer, the Lions worked out a pair of cornerbacks on Monday including Sterling Moore and Jamar Taylor.

Moore, since coming to the league in 2011, has played in 75 games (31 starts) while bouncing around between the Patriots, Cowboys, Buccaneers, and Saints. In those games, he has six interceptions and 40 passes defended.

Taylor was originally selected by the Miami Dolphins in the 2nd round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Since then he has played in 74 games (41 starts), recording three interceptions and 28 passes defended. He most recently spent time with the Arizona Cardinals in 2018 and played in 10 games (3 starts) before being released on Nov. 19.

Lions offense takes another blow at wide receiver

As if the difficult loss on Thanksgiving Day was not enough, the Lions will now be without wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr. for the remainder of the 2018 season as it was announced today that he has been placed on IR.

The original reports from Adam Schefter stated, while Jones Jr. had sustained a knee injury, his ACL and MCL were intact and that it was a bone bruise to be evaluated day-to-day. This latest news points to there being more wrong than initially suspected. When asked to comment in his press conference, head coach Matt Patricia declined to add any further detail to the extent of the injury.

Jones ends his 2018 campaign with 35 catches for 508 yards and five touchdowns according to ESPN.com.

The Lions’ offense will now lean on up and coming WR Kenny Golladay as their deep threat and continue to use recent stand-out Bruce Ellington as the slot receiver with Theo Riddick coming out of the backfield until Kerryon Johnson is ready to return.
