There are always two sides to a story.
On Thursday, Ely Hydes was in the right place at the right time as he caught Albert Pujols‘ 2,000th RBI ball during the Detroit Tigers game against the Los Angeles Angels.

As you have likely heard by now, after catching the ball, Hydes was approached by the Tigers’ security staff, who was making him offers to get the ball back.
Hydes, who claims he was treated poorly by the security staff, turned down multiple offers and ultimately decided to leave Comerica Park with the ball in his possession.
On Friday, Hydes took to Facebook to give further details of his side of the story and to rip the Ilitch family (especially Chris Ilitch) for how he was treated.

Just a short time ago, Tony Paul of the Detroit News tweeted out the Tigers’ statement which refutes Hydes’ claim that he was treated poorly by team employees.
I am going to post a statement from the #Tigers refuting Ely Hydes' claim that he was treated poorly by team employees.
But before I do that, I want to reiterate multiple witnesses back up Ely's version of events, and not just his friends, either.
