JUST IN: Detroit Tigers reveal who will throw out ceremonial first pitch at home opener

Throughout the 2019 season, the Detroit Tigers will be celebrating the 35th anniversary of the 1984 World Series Champion team.

According to Tony Paul of the Detroit News, that celebration will start just prior to the Tigers’ home opener as Guillermo “Willie” Hernandez has been selected to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

In 1984, Hernandez was lights out for the Tigers as he posted a 1.92 ERA with 32 saves on his way to being named the American League MVP.
