JUST IN: Big Ten discussing HUGE change to conference Championship Game

There is no question about it, Ohio State and Michigan were hands down the best two football teams in the Big Ten this season. Yet, when the Big Ten Championship Game was played, it was a four-loss Northwestern team that got the opportunity to win a conference championship.

As you know, under the current system in the Big Ten, the winner of the East Division plays the winner of the West Division in the Big Ten Championship game each season. Since Northwestern was able to win the West, they were rewarded with a chance to win the conference, despite having an overall record of just 8-4.

Some love the current system and some hate it but regardless of your opinion, there are reports that the league is having discussions about making a change.

According to Brett McMurphy, Big Ten commissioner Jim Delaney had the following response when asked whether or not the Big Ten Championship should include the 2 best teams rather than division winners.

“It’s an item that has been discussed before. There is actually more discussion now than there was 4 years ago.”

Nation, what are your thoughts on this? If this rule were already in place, would you be excited about seeing a rematch between Michigan and Ohio State? Would that take away from “The Game” that is played at the end of each season? Should a team potentially have to beat another team twice to win the Big Ten?

Michigan State’s LJ Scott makes big announcement regarding future

Just about a month ago, Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio revealed that running back LJ Scott would be taking advantage of a new NCAA rule. That rule would allow him to redshirt if he sat out the remainder of the 2018 season, giving him one more full season of eligibility, which he planned to spend with the Spartans.

Well, apparently Scott has had a change of heard as he took to Twitter on Wednesday to announce he would be leaving Michigan State and entering the NFL Draft.
