Prior to Thursday’s series-ending game against the Baltimore Orioles, the Detroit Tigers announced that DH Victor Martinez would be placed on the paternity list at the conclusion of the game.

Martinez will miss the Tigers weekend series against the red-hot Texas Rangers as he heads home to Orlando, Florida to be with his wife, who is going to be giving birth to their fourth child.

So, who have the Tigers decided to call up to replace Martinez in the lineup? Well, that answer is, nobody.

Instead, GM Al Avila has decided to bring up another arm for the bullpen as the team has recalled Buck Farmer from Toledo.

Farmer, who throws right-handed, has yet to pitch for the Tigers in 2017. While in Toledo this season, he has started eight games, going 1-2 with a 3.51 ERA.

Now, the question is, who will manager Brad Ausmus decide to use a DH for the upcoming series with the Rangers?
