The Detroit Red Wings are expected to announce the return of Steve Yzerman this afternoon as the team’s general manager, replacing long tenured GM Ken Holland.

According to reports, Holland will be staying with the Red Wings for now as senior Vice President. But of course, that doesn’t mean that other NHL teams don’t have their eye on him.
No doubt Yzerman wants Holland to remain with the Red Wings. He and Holland are very close. However, sources say Holland has been contacted by other teams, including Edmonton and Seattle.

Though Holland’s recent years with the Red Wings have been met with a fair amount of criticism, his resume is still extremely impressive, and would be a valuable addition to whomever he would potentially go to work for.
