After signing utility man Mike Aviles to a 1-year deal, the Detroit Tigers designated pitcher Kyle Lobstein for assignment to make room for Aviles on the 40-man roster.
On Monday, they shipped Lobstein to the Steel City.
The Tigers announced today that the club has traded LHP Kyle Lobstein to the Pirates in exchange for cash considerations.

Lobstein, 26, has a 5.33 ERA in two major league seasons. He was limited to 13 appearances – 11 starts – in 2015 because of injuries.

Lobstein took to Twitter to thank the Tigers.
