JUST IN: Jim Harbaugh reveals starting RB for Michigan

In 2018, running back Karan Higdon led the Michigan Wolverines with 1,178 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns while Chris Evans had 423 yards and four touchdowns (rushing) of his own.

The RB situation will look much different for the Wolverines this coming season as Higdon has moved on to the NFL (undrafted) and Evans is out for the year as he serves a suspension.

So, who will lead the way for Michigan in 2019? Will it be Christian Turner or Tru Wilson? What about incoming 4-star freshman Zach Charbonnet?

Well, on Friday, Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh surprised everyone by revealing a starting RB on the Big Ten Network show BTN Live.

From Wolverines Wire:

“Tru Wilson is our starter,” Harbaugh said. “He was our second-leading back last year and did a great job.”

Wilson posted 364 yards on 62 carries last season (5.7 ypc) while catching six passes for 34 yards.

Harbaugh also commented about Turner and Charbonnet.

“Christian Turner was really capable every time we were about to play him, which was right away when he came in as a freshman, we were going to play him in the first game last year in the opener and then broke a bone in his hand, that healed, he came back. Got back into playing we’re going to play him again and then he hurt his ankle. Then spring ball it was a hamstring after he did some good things in the bowl game, but he’s healthy now, gotta stay healthy.”

“Zach Charbonnet incoming freshman, I’m hearing great things about. Ben Vansumeren came over from defense, we brought Hassan Haskins over from defense.”

Nation, when all is said and done, who do you think leads the Wolverines in rushing this coming season?
